This year’s story.

Girls’ education is proven to be one of the most significant indicators of a society’s ability to combat global plights, including climate change, societal instability and inequity, and gender-based violence. In partnering with Razia’s Ray of Hope in Afghanistan, our joint mission is to improve the lives of girls through education, thus improving their communities, their country, and the world.

Last year’s story.

Children in Uganda face many obstacles to education, but to attend school, girls are also challenged with managing their menstrual periods. They lack hygiene products, privacy, and washing facilities. They also lack the accurate biological and sexual knowledge that can prevent STD’s and unwanted pregnancies. Teaching adolescent girls to make and use reusable menstrual pads as well as providing education on reproductive biology is a holistic approach that helps girls stay in school and perform academically.
